Kelby Watt Returns To 1K For Knoxville Nationals

8/5/24 [Knoxville, Iowa] After spending the month of July on the road competing with the World of Outlaws as the driver in the Bill Rose Racing #6, Kelby Watt will be returning to competition in the family owned #1K. Kelby is slated for Thursday night qualifying for the Knoxville Nationals at Watt’s home track where in the past he has competed in all three of their weekly racing divisions.

While on the road with the World of Outlaws, Watt competed a total of thirteen times as the driver of the Bill Rose Racing #6. During this time behind the wheel, Watt missed qualifying for the main event just three times, due to mechanical issues. Most notably while on the road with the “Greatest Show On Dirt” Watt finished a career best 12th place at I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Missouri in the Iron Man 55 preliminary event. During this same competition, Watt was second quick in his qualifying group, and won his heat race. Watt’s 12th place finish at I-55 marks a team best finish for Bill Rose Racing with the World of Outlaws in 2024.

Prior to the opportunity to drive for Bill Rose, Watt was competing for Rookie of The Year honors at Knoxville Raceway in the weekly 410 sprint car division. Plans for the remainder of the season will be announced following the conclusion of the Knoxville Nationals.

“I am thankful for the opportunity I was provided by Bill and Amanda to experience time on the road competing with the World of Outlaws. Knowing that my time with Bill wasn’t going to be forever, I am grateful I took every chance to learn as much as I could from him. I’ve learned more this past month racing at new tracks than I could have in one year staying at Knoxville. I’m excited to compete at my home track back in my car, but even more excited to continue growing my skills as a driver by exploring any new opportunities that come my way. I appreciate the continued support from my fans and sponsors while on the road and during this transition,” shares Watt.
